the perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 50 M and its base is 24 m. calculate its area

STEP 1

we know that in an isosceles triangle 2 sides are equal.
let one of the side be x
other side also equal to x

therefore,
x+x+24=50
2x=26
x =  \frac{26}{2}
x=13 m

STEP 2

Now,

refer the following image above for the further method.
in order to find the area of a triangle,we need a height,which is not given in this square.
so,we will use Pythagoras theorem.

after seeing the method you will come to a conclusion that area of the triangle is

60m sq.
