LET THE BREADTH BE X

Perimeter=40cm

Length=2X+2

(As it is twice)

So

40 cm=2(2X+2+X)

40 cm=2(3X+2)

40cm=6x+2

X=36/6

X=6

SO BREADTH IS 6cm so length will be twice +2 and will be 14 cm

answer

length = 14cm

breadth=6cm

Step-by-step explanation:

soln: let the length be X

and the breadth be y

a/q

2(x+y)=40

x+y=40/2

y=20-x…..………(1)

also,

x=2+2y [since,y=20-x]

x=2+2(20-x)

x=2+40-2x

x+2x=42

3x=42

x=42/3

x=14

now, eqn(1)

y=20-x

y=20-14

y=6

hence,the length of the rectangle=14cm

and the breadth of the rectangle=6 cm#

hope it helps you
