the period of 1793-94 is taken as the reign of terror in France.because Robespierre took to control the nation with a kind of reckless and horrifying fashion. anyone from the second or the first estate was tried by a revolutionary tribunal and if found guilty was guillotined. even members of the third estate who went against him were killed. finally the people who were tired of such a strict control of the government finally guillotined Robespierre himself.
