answer : option (i) quadrant I and III

explanation : abscissa means value of x and ordinate means value of y,

any point in Cartesian coordinates is written by (x, y) or (abscissa, ordinate).

we know,

in first quadrant ⇔abscissa and ordinate both are positive.

in 2nd quadrant ⇔abscissa is negative and ordinate is positive.

in 3rd quadrant ⇔abscissa and ordinate both are negative.

in 4th quadrant ⇔abscissa is positive and ordinate is negative.

now a/c to question, abscissa is equal to ordinate. means The point will be like as (a, a) or (-a, -a) .

from above explanation this type of point only possible in 1st and 3rd quadrant.

so, answer is quadrant I and III.
