The ponds and lakes which have luxuriant growth of vegetation, have polluted water that causes the death of the aquatic animals living in it why is it so even when plants produce oxygen to support animal life?

There are many kinds of Acids and other corodants present in polluted water which kills the plants itself thereby killing the whole aquatic life.

there can be many reason for this as pollution can come from various sources like the acid rain, industrial waste, Dust and bacteria acting in the ponds that produce some chemicals that are harmful for the animals living in the ponds.
Moreover ammonia is a compound that is poisonous and badly effect on the growth of the living animals living in the ponds.
