Where m is mass of water per s and h, the height raised = 20; Power = m.g.h/s = 5000 Watts.
Therefore m = 5000/(10x20) = 25 kg/s = 1500 kg/min. This number makes no allowance for the pump's efficiency which might be considered necessary if the 5 kW is the pump's drive power.
Therefore m = 5000/(10x20) = 25 kg/s = 1500 kg/min. This number makes no allowance for the pump's efficiency which might be considered necessary if the 5 kW is the pump's drive power.
