The present age of the father is three times then that of his son. After three years the age of the father will be 7 years more than twice the age of 5he son. What is the present age of the son

          ⇒   x  =  3 * y ------------[Equation 1]

  • Second condition given is ;

After three years the age of the father will be 7 years more than twice the age of the son i.e.,

           ⇒  x + 3  =  7 + 2*y

 Putting value of x from equation 1 into above equation we get,

            ⇒  3*y + 3 = 7 + 2*y

            ⇒   3*y - 2*y = 7 - 3

            ⇒   y  =  4

Therefore, present age of the son is 4 years.
