Originaal price of petrol = 48 Rs

New price of petrol = 52 Rs

Price increased = (52 - 48) Rs = 4 Rs

Therefore,

Percent of price risen = (Price increased/Original price)*100%
=> Percentage of price risen = (4/48)*100
=(1/12)*100
= 8.33%

Given :  The price of petrol has risen from ₹48 and ₹52 per L .

To Find : By what percent has the price risen up

Solution:

Old price  per liter = Rs 48

New price per liter = Rs 52

New price is greater than old price

Hence increase in price per liter = 52 - 48  = Rs 4

Increase percentage = ( increase  / old price) * 100

= ( 4/48) * 100

= 100/12

= 25/3

= 8.33 %

By 8.33 % the price risen up
