Hey there!!

If the price of a commodity increases by R%, then the reduction in consumption so as not to increase the expenditure isĀ

( \frac{r}{100 + r} \times 100)\%

Here R% = 20 %
Hence % decrease in the consumption of sugar

( \frac{20}{100 +20} \times 100)\% \\ = > ( \frac{20}{120} \times 100)\% \\ = > \frac{100}{6} \% \\

=> 16.66%
Hope this helps u!!!
