Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I’ld like to draw the attention of administration towards the problem of rising prices. The prices, especially of essential food items have been rising for the last three years. It has become very difficult for the common man to survive. The government is trying to control the prices but even then the maintenance of monthly budget has become a hard nut to crack.
A widespread hue and cry over this issue can be witnessed but the main reasons for the price hike are not being dealt with. The pivotal reason behind this problem is illegal hoarding of essential commodities. Excessive rainy season or bitter chilly winters just add to the problem. Strict laws are needed to check hoarding. Hoarders or black marketers should be punished. Rationing should be made transparent. A better planning during the seasons can effectively check price hike. I hope this letter of mine, on behalf of common people, will give wide publicity to this issue in public interest and some solutions would be found out at the earliest.
