Sides = 12 , 12 , 8 , 8 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Perimeter of parallelogram is 40 cm.
  • Ratio of its sides is 3 : 2.

To Find:

  • What is the length of its sides ?

Solution: Let x be the common in given ratios. Therefore,

➟ 1st side = 3x cm

➟ 2nd side = 2x cm

As we know that the opposite sides of a parallelogram are parallel and equal to each other. So

➟ 1st side = 3rd side = 3x cm

➟ 2nd side = 4th side = 2x cm

Perimeter of ||gm = Sum of all sides

A/q

  • Perimeter is 40 cm

\implies{\rm } 3x + 2x + 3x + 2x = 40

\implies{\rm } 10x = 40

\implies{\rm } x = 40/10

\implies{\rm } x = 4

So length of sides are

• First side = third side = 3x = 3(4) = 12 cm

• Second side = fourth side = 2x = 2(4) = 8 cm

➮ Sum of all sides = Perimeter

➮ 12 + 8 + 12 + 8 = 40

➮ 40 = 40
