Hey there !!

Here we have

The \:  \:  probabilities \:  \:  of  solving \:  \:  a  \:  \:  \:  \: mathematical  \:  \:  \\ problem \:  \:   By  \:  \:  A  \:  \: is  \:  =  \frac{1}{2} <br /> \:  \\  \\ \\  The \:  probabilities \:  of  \:  solving  \: a \:  mathematical    \:  \: problem  \:   \:  \: By \:  B \:   is  \:  =  \frac{1}{3} \\  \\ and \: similarly \: for \: <br />C \: is \:  \:  =  \frac{1}{4}

We know that , Probability of not happening of an event , P ( Not ) = 1 - P ( E)

Now , proceeding with this we get

P (  \: Not  \:  \: solving  \:  \: by \:  \:  A \:  \:  ) \:  \:  = 1 -  \frac{1}{2}  \\  \\  =  \frac{2 - 1}{2}  \\  \\  =  \frac{1}{2}  \\  \\ P (  \: Not  \:  \: solving  \:  \: by \:  \: B<br /> \:    \:  \:  ) \:  \:  \:  = 1 -  \frac{1}{3}  \\  \\  =  \frac{3 - 1}{3}  \\  \\  =  \frac{2}{3}  \\  \:  \\  P (  \: Not  \:  \: solving  \:  \: by \:  \:  c \: \:  \:  ) \:  \:  =  1 - \frac{1}{4}  \\  \\  =  \frac{4 - 1}{4}  \\  \\  =  \frac{3}{4} <br />

Hence The probability P ( Not solving by A , B , C ) = 1 /2 , 2/3 , 3/ 4

Hope this would help you !!
