The process of converting environmental pollution into harmless products by naturally occuring products is called Intrinsic bioremediation.

  • Intrinsic bioremediation involves the use of microbes, bacteria (both aerobic and anareobic), algae, etc to generate eco-friendly products from harmful and environment polluting products.
  • For example, the bioreactor that converts cow dung into source of renewable energy commonly called as gobar gas.
  • The bioreacter has aerobic and anaerobic bacteria thar digests the cow dung as make it a source of renewabe energy.
  • Also, the purification of sewage water which is a harmful product to clear water is done by sewage water plants which uses bioremediation as on of its step.
