Given:

✰ The product of two numbers = 1728

✰ One of the number = -12

To find:

✠ The other number.

Solution:

Let's understand the concept! The product of two numbers i.e, when we multiply the two numbers the result is equal to 1728. We know that one of the number is - 12 and we will assume the other number as x. Then, we will multiply both - 12 and x and the result is equal to 1728. Thus forming the equation and doing the required calculations, we will find out the value of x which is equal to the other number.

Let's find out...!

Let the other number be x

According to question,

➤ - 12 × x = 1728

➤ x = - 1728/12

➤ x = - 144

The other number = - 144

Verification:

L.H.S:

➛ - 12 × - 144

➛ + 1728

➛ 1728

= R.H.S

Hence Proved!!
