let two number be x and y,

so,

we get,

xy= 162 .......( i )

x + y = 27. ..........( ii )

from equation ( i ) we get,

y = 162 / x

on putting this value in equation ...( ii )

x + ( 162 / x ) = 27

taking L.C.M on L.H.S

( x² + 162 )/ x = 27

on cross multiplying we get,

x² + 162 = 27x

x² - 27x + 162 = 0

x² - 18x - 9x + 162 = 0

x ( x - 18 ) - 9 ( x - 18 ) = 0

we get,

( x - 9 ) ( x - 18 ) =0

we get

x= 9 and x = 18

and on putting those value on by one we get y as

y = 18 and y = 9

HOPE THIS HELPS
