let the other be x
-1/3 × x = 12/9
now take -1/3 on other side it becomes division from multiplication and then divide☺

Ok

Product = 12/9 = 4/3
One no = -1/3

Thus let the other no = a

a × -1/3 = 4/3

a= 4÷3/-1/3

a= 4/3×-3/1

a= -4 (3 and 3 cancels leaving -1)

Hope it helps
