Let the areas of the larger and the smaller triangle be A1 and A2 respectively. Let their heights be h1 and h2 respectively.

given a1/ a2= 6/5,h1 =9 and the two triangles have the common base.

there fore a1/ a2= h1/ h2

=6/5= 9/h2

= h2= 45/6

= h2= 7.5

Thus the height of the smaller triangle is 7.5cm
