the ratio of the hncome to the expenditure of a family is 7:6. Find the savings if the income is 1400.

Let the expenditure be x

Given income = 1400

Ratio of income and expenditure = 7 : 6

=> 7 : 6 :: 1400 : x

We know that,product of extremes = product of means

=> 7x = 1400 × 6

=> x = 1400/7 × 6

=> x = 200 × 6

=> x = 1200

=> Expenditure = 1200

Savings = Income - expenditure

=> Savings = 1400 - 1200

=> Savings = ₹200

Answer :- 200
