Gîvèń :-

  • The ratio of the income to the expenditure of a family is 7:6
  • Income of the family is 14,000

fíńd :-

  • Savings of the family.

Solution :-

Let x be the common multiple of the ratio 7 : 6

•°• Income = 7x

Expenditure = 6x

We have to find the Saving of the family.

Saving is the amount left from income after all expenses.

•°• Saving = Income - Expenditure

Plug in the values,

Saving = 7x - 6x

Saving = x

Income = 14000

\bf\implies 14000 = 7x

x = Saving.

We have to find the saving i.e x, therefore bring to the other side and perform the further operation.

\bf\implies x = \bf\large\frac{14000}{7}

\bf\implies x = 2000

Saving = x = 2000

° Saving of the family is 2000

Expenditure = 6x

Where, x = 2000

Expenditure = 6 × 2000

Expenditure = 12000

\bf{\huge{\underline{\boxed{\tt{\pink{Verification:}}}}}}

Saving = 2000

Expenditure = 12000

Income = 14000

Saving = Income - Expenditure

Plug the values,

2000 = 14000 - 12000

2000 = 2000

LHS = RHS.

Hence answer is right.
