Let the number be 1x, 3x and 5x
By the condition,
(1x) x (3x) x (5x) = 960
or, 15 x3 = 960
or, x3 = 960/15
or, x3 = 64
or,x3 = 4x4x4
or, x= 4
So, the numbers are, 4, 12 and 20
Their sum is = 4+12+20 = 36

Let the three numbers be a,b,c
a:b:c=1:3:5,abc=960
Let a=x,b=3x,c=5x
x*3x*5x=960
15x^3=960
x^3=960/15
x^3=64
x=(64)^1/3
x=4
therefore,a=x=4
               b=3x=12
               c=5x=20
hence,a+b+c=4+12+20=36
therefore,their sum is 36......
