Hola there,

Reaction of carboxylic acid with alcohol in the presence of conc. H2SO4 is known as Esterification reaction.

Reaction=>

CH3CH2OH + CH3COOH --conc. H2SO4--› CH3COOC2H5 + H2O

Alcohol + Carboxylic acid in the presence of conc. H2SO4 gives Ethyl Acetate + water.

Hope this helps...:)

Hey mate !!!

here is your answer !!

the reaction between carboxylic acid ( Ch3COOH ) with. Alcohol ( C2H5 OH ) .

⚫ when the carboxylic acid react with alcohol in presence of concentrated H2 s o4. then there is formation of ethyl ethanoate or ethyl acetate with water .

here its equation that show reaction between ethanol and ethanoic acid acetic acid.

CH3COOH + C2H5OH ==> CH3COOC2H5 + H20 .

this process is simply known as esterification because there is formation of Easter which is sweet smelling compound.

Easter is final product of reaction between alcohol and carboxylic acid in presence of concentrated H2SO4 to form ester and this process is known as esterification .

⚫ Easter is a sweet smelling compound and used for making perfumes.

hope it helps you a lot !!!

thanks !!!
