the resistivity of silver is 1.6x10-8 ohm.metre.. what does it mean?

It means that for a conductor made of Silver of length 1 meter, and of cross section 1 meter²  the resistance between the ends will be 1.6 * 10⁻⁸ Ohms.

resistivity is the resistance per unit length with a unit cross section.

It means that  if we take a wire of silver, of length 2 meters and of cross section 1 meter² , then  its resistance between the two ends is  3.2 * 10⁻⁸ ohms.
