If the force is applied in opposite directions, then resultant force=10N-6N= 4N

If the force is applied in the same direction, the resultant force=10N+6N=16N

It depends on the angle between these forces...

If these forces are perpendicular to each other then Resultant will be equal to

SquareRoot ( 10 ^2 + 6 ^2 )

= SquareRoot ( 100 + 36 )

= squareRoot ( 136 )

= 11.66 N

If there is some angle say @ between then Resultant will be equal to

SqRoot ( 10 ^2 + 6 ^2 + 2 × 10 × 6 × cos( @ ) )
