The revolt of 1857 cannot be considered as the first war of independence. Do u agree with this statement? Give reasons to substantiate your answer.

Yes because in this war every main defender like Rani laxmibai or Mangal Pandey fought for their own welfare.
Rani Laxmibai fought for Jhasi not for India
Mangal Pandey fought because rifle were operated by cow fat. He didn't fought for Indian Independence

No because By this India got a revolution against British and people tried to overthrow British.

no i disagree, actually it is one of the most important steps of journey of getting freedom...becouse this revolt fill anger in indians against British and courage too ,that we could be able to get free from them and form our own democracy
