Laxman’s rule lasted for about 28 years in Bengal region. During  his period, he patronized jayadev. Jayadev was a Sanskrit poet who composed the famous poem geetgovinda, which includes the love story of Krishna with the cowherds.

The poem geetgovinda is organized into twelve chapters. Laxman Sen, the ruler from the Sena dynasty of the Bengal then patronized this peot Jayadev.
