2 {x}^{2}  + 3x + 1 = 0

Removing middle term

2 {x}^{2}  + 2x + 1x + 1 = 0

2x(x + 1) + 1(x + 1) = 0

(x + 1)(2x + 1) = 0

Therefore,

x =  - 1 \: and \:  \frac{ - 1}{2}

Correct option= (a) - 1 and - 1/2
