Hey.

Here is the answer.

Let the salary if the person is 100.

So, after 10% decrease his salary will be

100 - 10% of 100

= 100 - 0.10×100

= 90

Let the increase be x %

So, new salary or net increased will be

90 + x % of 90

= 90 + x/100 ×90

= 90 + 9x/10

But net % increase is 8%

so, net increased salary will be

100 + 8% of 100

= 100 + 0.08×100

= 108

So, 108 = 90 + 9x/10

or, 18 = 9x/10

or, 180 = 9x

or, 20 = x

So, 2nd increase in % will be 20 %.

Thanks.

Answer: 20%

Step-by-step explanation:

Can apply formula

Net change in % = -10+x-10x/100

= -10+x-x/10

= (-100+10x-x)/10

= (-100+9x)/10

Given 8= (-100+9x)/10

9x= 180

X =180/9 = 20

X= 2nd % increase is 20
