The servants of India Society was founded by Gopal Krishna Gokhale. It was founded in Pune in Maharashtra on 12th June, 1905.
Its founding members were Natesh Appaji Dravid, Gopal Krishna Deodhar and Anant Patwardhan a group of educated indians who wanted to free India from British rule and create awareness about social and human development.
The society fought issues like domestic abuse, oppression of women, discrimination and untouchability of scheduled castes, education and health care.
