These lines describe the sixth stage of a man's life in which he becomes quite old and physically weak. He usually stays at home wearing slippers, spectacles on his nose; wrinkles appear on his cheeks and the skin hangs loosely on them. His pantaloons (a type of tight trousers) that fitted him so well a few years ago, become very loose as he grows weak.
