Well I think that when sodium and ammonia are mixed they form sodium amide and hydrogen which later on acts as reducing agent but I guess even sodium amide is also a reducing agent because it has sodium in -1 state so it will be eager to break the bond and cause the change in oxidation state......hope it may help you...plzz mark as brainlest.....#MB
