Refractive index of glass is defined as the ratio of the speed of light in vacuum to the speed of light in glass.

Refractive index of glass, n /g

= Speed of light in glass/Speed of light in vacuum

Therefore, n /g

= 2×10 /8

=3×10 /8

= 2/3
