Explanation:

According to the question,

Speed of light = 3 \times 108 m/s

Speed of light in medium X = 2\times108 m/s

Speed of light in medium Y = 2.5\times108 m/s

air nX  =\frac{\text { Speed of light in air }}{\text { Speed of light in medium } X}=\frac{3 \times 10^{8} \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}}{2 \times 10^{8} \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}}

air nX = 1.5

air nY = \frac{\text { Speed of light in air }}{\text { Speed of light in medium } Y}=\frac{3 \times 10^{8} \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}}{2.5 \times 10^{8} \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}}

air nY = 1.2

XnY= \frac{\text {Speed of light in mediumX } X}{\text { Speed of light in mediumY } Y}=\frac{2 \times 10^{8} \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}}{2.5 \times 10^{8} \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s}}

XnY= 0.8
