Answer:

question we will try to make equations and solve them to get to our answer.

Statement-1

A number whose cube is equal to the number itself. Let the number be x then,

x^3=x (that is equation one)

x^3-x=0

x(x^2–1)=0

x=0,-1,+1……………..result(a)

Now it is given that the square of the number must not be equal to the number itself, so we will find the cases in which the square of the number is equal to itself and then subtract them from the set of values obtained for equation one.

x^2=x

x^2-x=0

x(x-1)=0

x=0,+1……………….result(b)

Now, subtracting result(b) from result(a) we get x=-1.

so the number is 1.......
