Now
$x + y = 22 \\ x - y = 2 \\ \\ add \: the \: eqution \\ 2x = 24 \\ x = \frac{24}{2} = 12 \\ put \: the \: value \: in \: eqution \: (1) \\ 12 + y = 22 \\ y = 22 - 12 \\ y = 10 \: ans$
