The sum of the digits of a 2-digit number is 12. If the digits are reversed, the new number is 18 greater than the original number. What is the original number?

Let the two digit number be 10x+y,where x is at tens place and y is at ones place.

Sum of digits=x+y=12— —eq(1)

If the digit are reversed, I.e.

10y+x-(10x+y)=18

Simplify the equation,we get

y-x=2——eq(2)

Solving both the equations,

We get

X=5 and y =7

Original number=57

I hope this will help you
