the sum of present age of Anil and his father is 54 years. Six years ago, Anil,s father was 6 time as old as Anil. Find there present ages.

Sum of Anil's age and his fathers age is 54
So Father's age is 54 - x
6 years ago:
Anil's age = x - 6
Anil's Father's age = 54 - x - 6 = 48 - x
6(x - 6) = 48 - x
6x - 36 = 48 - x
6x + x = 48 + 36
7x = 84
x = 84/7
x = 12
So present age:
Anil's​ age = x = 12
Anil's Father's age = 54 - x = 54 - 12 = 42
