let the side of first square = a

let the side of second square = b

so

a^{2} + b^{2} = 400 =>  (a + b)(a - b) = 400--------(1)

also

4a - 4b = 16

a - b = 4  ---------(2)

putting 2 in 1

(a + b) = 100--------(3)

solving from 1 and 2 we get

a = 52

b = 48
