let three multiples are x-1,x,x+1 th multiples of 8.
their sum is 888. So, 8(x-1)+8x+8(x+1)=888
24x=888
3x=111.
x=111/3=37.
∴multiples are:
8(x-1)=8*36=288
8*37=296
8*38=304.

let three multiples of 8 be = 8x+8(x+1)+8(x-1)
therefore,
8x+8(x+1)+8(x-1) =888
8x+8x+8x-1      =888
24x    =888
24x    =888
24x =888
 3x =111
x =111/3
x =37
therefore,
8x =8*37
8x =296
8(x+1) =8x+8
8*37+8
296+8=304
8(x-1)
8x-8
8*37-8
296-8
288
therefore ,the three consecutive numbers are 296,304,288
