The sum of two numbers is 43.Their difference is 13.Find the numbers.

Answer:

let the first number be x and second be y respectively

ATQ

=>x+y=>43(eq1)

=>x-y=>13(eq2)

from eq1and eq2

=>2x=>56

=>x=>28

putting in eq2

=>28-y=>13

=>-y=>13-28

=>-y=>-15

=>y=>15

Answer :- (x,y)=(28,15)

Let the numbers be x and y....

x+y=43 --------(1)

x+y=13 ---------(2)

Eliminating the given equations,

We get,

x + y = 43

+ x - y = 13

______________

2x = 56

=x= 18

Placing the value of x=18 in (2).....

We get,

28+y=43

=y=43-28

=y=15

Therefore,

(x,y)=(28,15)
