Solution:-

_____________

let the first number be x and second be y respectively

So ,ATQ

x+y =>9 (eq1)

x^2+y^2=41 (eq2)

___________________

from eq1

y=>x-9

putting in eq2

x^2+(x-9)^2=41

x^2+x^2-18x+81=>41

2x^2-18x+40=>0

2(x^2-9x+20)=>0

x^2-9x+20=>0

x^2-5x-4x+20=>0

x(x-5)+4(x-5)=>0

(x-5)(x+4)=>0

x=>5,-4
