Answer:

Let the smaller number be x.

=And the bigger number =x+8(As the difference between both is 8.)

=According to the question,

=x+(x+8)=108

=x+x+8=108

=2x+8=108

=2x=108-8

=2x=100

=x=100/2

=x=50

=Therefore,the smaller number= x =50

=And the bigger number=x+8=50+8=58

hi there!!!

Solution:

=> Let the bigger number be x and the smaller number be y.

now,

=>(1). x+y= 108

x= 108-y

also,

=>( 2). x-y= 8

now, by elimination method,

adding (1) and (2),

x+y= 108

+ x-y= 8

2x = 116

hence,

x= 116/2= 58

therefore,

the bigger number= 58

now,

substituting the value of x in (1)

x= 108-y

58= 108-y

y= 108-58

y= 50

hence,

the smaller number= 50

hope this helps!!
