According to question

Sum of numbers = 58
x + y = 58. ....... (1)

Difference of numbers = 28
x - y = 28 ...... (2)

Subtract (2) from (1)
x + y - x + y = 58 - 28
2y = 30
y = 15

Putting y in equation (1) we get
X + y = 58
X + 15 = 58
X = 58 - 15 = 43

Answer. X = 43 and Y = 15
