Pyrometer is a device which is used for measuring temperatures of very high order of any object. Most of these devices work by measuring radiation that are emitted from the object or body. Measuring the temperature through radiation have the advantage of not to touch the object which are needed to be measured. Because objects with high temperature will destroy any device or object that comes in contact with it.

Some type of pyrometers measures the temperature of luminous bodies by comparing them with a filament that can be adjusted in temperature.
