There is no change in temperature when there is a change in state because the whole energy is used in changing the state of the substance, so their is no change in temperature.

Take beaker and fill it ice cubes and place it on the burner start heating it and place a thermometer in the beaker. You will observe there is no change temperature while ice changed into water.
