Mass of ball A,m1=40g

Mass if ball B m2=50g

Initial velocity of ball A, u1=40m/s

Initial velocity of ball B, u2=30m/s

Final velocity of ball A, v1=? =v

Final velocity of ball B, v2=25m/s

According to law of conservation of momemtum,

m1 u1 +m2 u2 =m1 v1 +m2 v2

40×40+50×30=40×v+50×25

1600+1500=40v+1250

3100-1250=40v

1850=40v

1850÷40=v

v=46.25

So,v1=46.25m/s

Answer:

25 ± 24 m/s

Explanation:

50 x 40  ± 40x30 = 50V + 30x25

50V = 2000 - 750 ±1200

V = 25 ± 24 m/s
