now if we take unit digits of these three numbers then we get 3 × 9 × *

now, 3 × 9 = 27

it means the product we will get in unit place is 7 × *

but 7 × * get unit place as 1

if we multiply 7 × 3 we get 21 and unit place as 1

hence, * could be replaced by 3.

hope you understand.
