Copper is a good conductor of heat. Thus it is not recommended for being used in cooking or preservation as it will make the vessel warm easily and make it hard for us to pick it up. But copper bottomed utensils are extensively used as it promotes uniform cooking as copper being good conductor of heat.

copper bottomed utensils are used as copper has high MP and BP but copper isn't used for storing purposes as it may make the food toxic and unfit for human consumption
