The energy required to move an electron from the ground state to the first excited state = 10.2 eV

The kinetic energy of the atom = 3.4 eV

The orbital radius in first excited state of the atom = 2.12 Angstrom

  • energy required  = (- 13.6/ 4) + 13.6 = 10.2 eV
  • kinetic energy = (- total energy)

                                 = 3.4 eV

  • orbital radius = n * n * r0

                              = 2 * 2 * 0.53 Angstrom

                              = 2.12 Angstrom
