AnswEr:

Given,

  • Volume, V = 20 cm³
  • Mass, m = 50 g
  • Density = 1 g cm³

Density of substance :

 \tt \: \frac{m}{v} = \frac{50}{20} = 2.5 \: g \: per \: {cm}^{3} \\

Relative Density :

 \tt \frac{2.5}{1} = 2.5 \\

Since, relative density is greater than 1 , then the substance will sinks.

Relative Density :

The ratio of the density of a substance to that of the density of water is called relative density.

: It has no unit as it is a ratio.

  • If relative density >1, then body sinks in water.
  • If relative density <1, then body floats in water.
  • If relative density = 1 , then body float while completely immersed in water.
