stress exerted by the mountain on earth should be less than the breaking stress of earth

i.e. P <S

H X DENSITY X g < S

Hmax < S/Dg = 10^4m

therefore the max. height is 10 km

p.s. height of mt everst is approx 8848 ( max height recorded on earth till now) i guess............:)
